New Simpson Hill Community School District 32 Board of Education met Aug. 11.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

President Hoffard called the regular board meeting to order at 6:00PM.  

Present were: Hoffard, Mize, Ross, Hill, Widowski, Treat, and Baity.

Administration present:  Mr. Nighswander and Ms. Yandell     Visitors: None

Motion by Treat seconded by Hill to approve the minutes of the 7-14-22 board meeting, carried.

Motion by Baity seconded by Mize to approve the minutes of the 7-28-22 board meeting, carried.

Motion by Widowski seconded by Treat to approve the financial report as presented and payment of the bills as listed in the amount of $35,113., carried.

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: Enrollment; Calendar; Menu 

Motion by Ross seconded by Mize to approve the resolution for the FY23 Return to School plan, carried.

Motion by Hill seconded by Treat to approve the FY23 New Simpson Hill Tentative Budget, carried.

Motion by Hill seconded by Ross to approve the application for the building permit for the gym HVAC unit and diffusers, carried.

Motion by Hill seconded by Widowski to approve the destruction of audio recording of closed session older than 18 months, carried.

Motion by Widowski seconded by Mize to approve changing the September board meeting and budget hearing to September 15,2022, carried.

Motion by Hill seconded by Baity to approve the FY23 Memorandum of Agreement with ROE 21 Safe/Alternative School Program, carried.

Motion by Treat seconded by Widowski to approve the attendance and truancy policy as presented, carried.

Motion by Hill seconde3d by Ross to authorize the Superintendent to seek price quotes for propane for FY23, carried.

Motion by Treat seconded by Hill to convene to closed session at 7:30 PM to discuss:

Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) carried.

Motion by Widowski seconded by Treat to resume open session at 7:30 PM, carried.

Motion by Treat seconded by Ross to accept the resignation letter of Mike Waters effective immediately, carried.

Motion by Treat seconded by Baity to employ Rhonda Hill as an Aide for the FY23 school year, carried.

Motion by Hill seconded by Treat to adjourn, carried.
