SLIAC champion Greenville volleyball team runs SLIAC record to 12-0

The volleyball team clinched the SLIAC tournament hosting rights after the results of last Saturday's SLIAC matches, but the Panthers kept their perfect conference record running with a four set, 25-17, 25-22, 23-25, 26-24 win against Westminster on the Blue Jays' senior night.

Greenville finished with a .173 hitting rate with 51 kills and 23 errors on 162 swings. They performed best in the second set with an incredible 17/2/34/.441 line.

Mia Bonacorsi provided 15 kills and three service aces to contribute 18 points to the GU effort. She also had a team-high 19 digs.

Madison Schmidt added 11 kills and only one error in 25 swings, finishing with a .400 kill percentage.

Kaitlin Murray and Amanda Hollis led Greenville with 18 and 17 set assists, respectively.

The Panthers had three other players post double digit efforts in digs. Murray had 13 digs, Amber Glazebrook added 12 digs, and Chasity Hill tallied 10 digs.

Mia deJesus made her presence felt at the net with five block assists.

The Panthers (18-6, 12-0 SLIAC) will host the conference tournament on November 5 in Greenville. Their junior varsity team will play Thursday through Saturday, but Greenville's next varsity competition will occur on Tuesday, October 25, against Fontbonne at 7:30 p.m. in H.J. Long Gymnasium.
