In an Oct. 9 Facebook post, Rep. Paul Jacobs revealed an endorsement by Rep. Blaine Wilhour.
Jacobs was initially voted into the Illinois House in 2020. A Republican, his legislative experience includes serving on the Tourism Committee and Higher Education. Jacobs is a state representative who resides in Pomona, according to the Illinois House.
Jacobs (R-Carbondale) claimed victory at the polls this past June primary election and is uncontested in the upcoming November General Election that’ll likely continue his representation in Illinois’ 118th District.
“Thank you Southern Illinois,” Jacobs wrote on Facebook. “I look forward to continuing to serve you in Springfield as your conservative State Representative!”
Jacobs was also pleased by the endorsement.
"I am proud to have the support of my good friend and fellow Southern Illinois Republican State Representative Blaine Wilhour in my race for re-election," Jacobs said. "Blaine is a strong advocate for the conservative agenda, and fights to protect life, and our Second Amendment Rights. Thank you Blaine!"
Jacobs has earlier publicly revealed other endorsements.
"I am pleased to share the news that I have been endorsed by Associated Builders and Contractors of Illinois! I am proud to have built a record as state representative that proves I support our construction workers, builders and contractors. Vote Paul Jacobs for 118th District State Rep!" Jacobs said in a Facebook post.
Other professional associations support Jacobs as well.
"I am pleased to have the endorsement of the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois. I will continue to stand up for those who risk so much to protect us," Jacobs posted.
