Women's soccer ties Westminster 1-1

 The women's soccer team found themselves gridlocked in a 1-1 tie as their match with Westminster ended on Wednesday.

Greenville scored in the fourth minute of the match when they received a goal from Nina Torvisco and an assist from Kiera Coleman to move ahead 1-0.

After a controversial foul in the box in the 58th minute of the match, the Blue Jays tied the score at 1-1 on a penalty kick.

Overall, Greenville outshot Westminster 15-11. Jen De Leon De Leon and Idaly Valenzuela each had four shots. GU held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Greenville's goalkeeper Addison Miller posted six saves in the match.

The Panthers (4-3-2, 3-1-1 SLIAC) have a matchup against Blackburn scheduled for Saturday in Greenville at 7 p.m.
