DAY ONE OF RETREAT – July 22, 2022
ROLL CALL/ATTENDANCE
Chair, Bill Hawley convened a retreat of the Board of Trustees at 6:45 p.m. at Morton’s The Steakhouse in St. Louis, Missouri. Trustees present at the meeting in person were Jim Beasley, Jeff Brown, Bill Hawley, Bryan Holthaus, Louis Kalert, Linda Stover, and Laura Wedekemper.
College staff members attending in person were President George Evans, Alan Boerngen, Janet Fontenot, Judy Hemker, George Kriss, Julie Obermark, Karol Potter, and Amy Troutt.

PRESENTATION OF THE BIG QUIT – THE GREAT RESIGNATION – EMPLOYMENT IN HIGHER EDUCATION AND KC EMPLOYMENT OUTLOOK
President Evans discussed the current open positions at the College and presented information regarding continued employment and hiring issues community colleges are facing across the nation and the steps being taken to address those issues.
EVANS VISION 2018 UPDATE – WHERE ARE WE NOW?
President Evans presented a comparison of the vision he presented to the Board of Trustees on January 6, 2018 to where the College currently stands compared to that vision and highlighted areas of success and areas of opportunity.
MASTER FACILITIES AND IMPROVEMENT PLAN (MFIP) AND PROJECTS UPDATE President Evans presented an update of the Master Facilities and Improvements Plan (MFIP) discussing the status of current projects and providing an update on future projects.
KCFT COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT UPDATE
President Evans provided an update on the proposed contract with the Kaskaskia College Federation of Teachers.

Motion by Linda Stover to adjourn. All members voted yes by voice vote. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
