Akin Community Grade School District No.91 Board of Education met June 27.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. CALL TO ORDER:

Present: K. Pemberton, J. Carlton, D. Shelton, C. Thomas and S. Wilson

Absent: J. Wilkerson & S. Sniderwin

3. Audience Participation: (limited to 10 minutes total unless extended by the board).

4. A motion was made by D. Shelton to enter into closed session for the purpose of considering information regarding Collective Bargaining, the appointment, evaluation, performance, employment and/or dismissal of personnel and student disciplinary actions. Seconded by J. Carlton

Role call vote:

Present: K. Pemberton, J. Carlton, D. Shelton, C. Thomas and S. Wilson

Closed Session began at 6:20 p.m.

A Motion is made by C. Thomas to end closed session at 6:33. Seconded by J. Carlton.

5.* A motion is made by J. Carlton to approve a Consent Agenda; which includes: the regular board of education minutes from previous meeting/s, the treasurer’s report/activity fund report and to approve the bills to be paid as presented.

This motion is seconded by C. Thomas.

7c. A motion is made C. Thomas to hire Shawn Craig as head basketball coach for 2022-2023 school year.

Second by J. Carlton (all yes)

7e. A motion is made by J. Carlton to hire Olivia Roberston as paraprofessional for 2022-2023 school year.

Seconded by C. Thomas (all yes)

7f. A motion is made by S. Wilson to approve bid for upgrading classroom doors. Seconded by J. Carlton (all yes)

11. A motion is hereby made by S. Wilson and seconded by D. Shelton adjourn the regular meeting of the Akin board of education at (7:39. (am/ pm). The next meeting will be held on July 25, 2022 6:00 regular meeting.
