On Aug. 5, Illinois State Rep. Patrick Windhorst (R-Metropolis) told his constituents about an upcoming senior health fair event.
Windhorst was initially elected to the Illinois House in 2018. His legislative past consists of serving on the Restorative Justice Committee and Criminal Judiciary.
According to Windhorst's website, on Wednesday, Aug. 24, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Carbondale Civic Center, located at 200 S. Illinois Ave., Windhorst -- along with Rep. Paul Jacobs (R-Pomona), Sen. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro), and Sen. Dale Fowler (R-Harrisburg) -- will host several senior service agencies to provide literature, helpful guides and other resources from a variety of state, county and local agencies.
General Assembly staff members will be located on the site to help the constituents with their concerns pertaining to state government. Those who attend are encouraged to sign up for a chance to win a door prize. The fair is free of charge.
“This is a great opportunity for senior residents to learn more about the resources available in our area and have a good time while doing it," Windhorst wrote on Facebook Aug. 5. "I look forward to visiting with those who are able to attend and would like to thank all of the great community partners that help make these events possible.”
