New Simpson Hill Community School District 32 Board of Education met April 21.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
Superintendent Joe Nighswander called the regular board meeting to order at 6:00PM. Present were: Mize, Ross, Widowski, Treat, and Baity. Hoffard and Hill were absent.
Administration present: Mr. Nighswander and Mrs. Armstrong Visitors: None
In the absence of the President and Vice President, Superintendent Joe Nighswander asked for nominations for President Pro-Tem to preside for this meeting.
Motion by Baity seconded by Ross to elect Paul Widowski to serve as President Pro-tem for this meeting, carried.
Motion by Baity seconded by Ross to approve the minutes of the 3-08-22 board meeting, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Baity to approve the financial report as presented and payment of
the bills as listed in the amount of $35,675., carried.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: Enrollment/Mobility; Calendar; EBF Funds; Summer School
Motion by Treat seconded by Widowski to accept the price quotes for trash service, fire protection, and milk, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Treat to set the board meeting dates for 2022-23 as presented, carried.
Motion by Baity seconded by Widowski to approve the trip to Nashville for BETA Club nationals, carried.
Motion by Baity seconded by Ross to convene to closed session at 6:47 PM to discuss:
• Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)
carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Ross to resume open session at 7:20PM, carried.
Motion by Ross seconded by Widowski to authorize the Superintendent to advertise for the following coaching positions: head boys basketball coach, assistant boys basketball coach, track coach, and head baseball coach, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Baity to adjourn, carried.
