New Simpson Hill District 32 Board of Education met June 9.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
President Hoffard called the regular board meeting to order at 6:00PM. Present were: Hoffard, Mize, Ross, Hill, Widowski, Treat, and Baity.
Administration present: Mr. Nighswander and Ms. Armstrong Visitors: None
Motion by Hill seconded by Ross to approve the minutes of the 5-12-22 board meeting, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Ross to approve the financial report as presented and payment of the bills as listed in the amount of $49,310., carried.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: Final Enrollment; June/July Calendar; Electric buses; Preliminary IAR results
Motion by Mize seconded by Hill to approve the 2022-23 student handbook as presented.
Motion to continue the IASB sponsored Workers Compensation Self Insurance Trust for FY23 and Illinois School District Agency for property/casualty insurance, tabled.

Motion by Baity seconded by Ross to approve the replacement of the gym HVAC unit and diffusers by Heartland Mechanical in the amount of $239,475, carried.
Motion by Widowski seconded by Treat to accept the price quote from Southern FS for diesel fuel as presented, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Hill to convene to closed session at 8:34 PM to discuss:
• Collective bargaining matters between the public body and its employees if their representative, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)
• Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)

Motion by Baity seconded by Widowski to employ Sherry Sullivan as RTI Interventionist for the 2022-23 school year, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Hill employ Sara Schell as Aide/Sub for the 2022-23 school year, carried.
Motion by Widowski seconded by Baity to employ Rebecca Philpott as 8th grade class sponsor, carried.
Motion by Baity seconded by Treat to employ Eric Eckhart as Head Baseball Coach for the 2022-23 season, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Mize accept the resignation of Lily Greer effective immediately, carried.
Motion by Hill seconded by Widowski to adjourn, carried.
