Hardin County Community Unit School District No. 1 Board of Education met April 25.

The Regular meeting of the Hardin County Community Unit School District No. 1 met in the board room at the District office. The meeting was called to order by Greg Warren at 6:33 p.m. Present were Nick McDowell, Greg Warren, Colby Potts, Greg McDowell, and Gene Fatheree. Britt Belford and Denise Littrell were absent. Administrators present: Andy Edmondson

Members of HCEA were recognized as guests.

A motion was made by G. McDowell and seconded by N. McDowell to approve the consent agenda as presented. G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Potts, yes; N. McDowell, yes; Warren, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by N. McDowell and seconded by Fatheree to approve the Consolidated District Plan. Potts, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Warren, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Potts and seconded by Fatheree to approve the COVID return of sick leave. N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Potts, yes; Warren, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Fatheree and seconded by N. McDowell to approve bill for door replacement. N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Potts, yes; Warren, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by G. McDowell and seconded by Potts to adopt the tentative amended 2021-22 budget and the 30 day public inspection with the Budget Hearing to be held June 27th at 6:30p.m. Fatheree, yes; Potts, yes; N, McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Warren, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by N. McDowell and seconded by Potts to authorize the 2021-22 Annual Audit. Potts, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Warren, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by N. McDowell and seconded by Fatheree to approve the 5th grade trip to River Discover Center. Potts, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Warren, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Potts and seconded by N. McDowell to approve the FFA trip to SIU, N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Warren, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

McDowell to accept the resignations of: Reima Shetler (8th Grade Sponsor), Katherine Maddox (Safety Care Trainer), MaryBeth Bryant (Assistant Principal), Carlta Hodge (Jr. Class Sponsor), Heather Sanders (Jr High Scholar Bowl Coach), Chelsea Smith (Freshman Class Sponsor), Kelly Oxford (8th Grade Sponsor), Natalie Vaughn (Freshman Class Sponsor), Cammie Pollard (High School Math Teacher), Cammie Pollard (High School Volleyball Coach), John Hall (Sophomore Class Sponsor), Braden Cook (Athletic Director), Haley Duke (Jr High Cheerleader Coach). A motion was made by Potts and seconded by N. McDowell to approve a leave of absence for Chelsea Smith for the 2022-23 school year. G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Potts, yes; N. McDowell, yes; Warren, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by N. McDowell and seconded by Fatheree to approve Jordan Austin as summer school nurse. Fatheree, yes; Potts, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Warren, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Fatheree and seconded by Potts to hire Hunter Cullum as Physical Education teacher for the 2022-23 school year on a provisional basis. Potts, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G, McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Warren, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by G. McDowell and seconded by Potts to hire Angela Mayfield as Jr High Language Arts teacher for the 2022-23. Potts, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Warren, yes, 5 yes, 0 no, motion carried.
