Illinois State Sen. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) recently announced that she had received a Champion of Free Enterprise award from the Illinois Chamber.

The Chamber based its rankings on how each legislator voted on key business legislation and their impact on businesses across the state.

“Our state and small business community continue to face significant challenges and economic uncertainty, which is why it is critical for lawmakers to support policies that promote fiscal responsibility and job creation,” Bryant said. “I am honored to receive the Champion of Free Enterprise award as a result of my pro-jobs, pro-growth record and look forward to advocating for more proposals that will strengthen our economy and create more opportunities for job creators within Illinois.”

According to South West Illinois News, Bryant recently cheered the work of the youth involved in her Youth Advisory Council in a May 18 tweet.

"This won't be the last time you see the young people from my Youth Advisory Council," Bryant wrote in the tweet. "I believe one or more of this crew will be our future elected officials."

The Illinois Chamber of Commerce is a private nonprofit organization supported by member dues, contributions from a diverse group of primarily Illinois-based businesses and revenue generated by offering HR compliance educational seminars and materials.
