Representative Paul Jacobs garnered another endorsement near the upcoming June 28 Primary election.

“I am pleased to share the news that I have been endorsed by Associated Builders and Contractors of Illinois,” Jacobs wrote on Facebook. “I am proud to have built a record as State Representative that proves I support our construction workers, builders, and contractors.”

Ballotpedia wrote Jacobs took to office in 2021 and his term is expected to end in 2023.

On June 14, Jacobs announced endorsements from multiple groups in Illinois.

“Pro-life advocacy groups agree that my 100% pro-life voting record makes me the right choice in the race for 118th district State Representative,” he wrote on Facebook. “Thank you to the Illinois Federation for Right to Life, Illinois Citizens for Life, and Illinois Family Action for your endorsements!”

WSILTV reported Jacobs and other GOP leaders voted against Senate Bill 2408, though it still won. The bill requires private coal-fired and oil-fired electric generating units by Jan. 1, 2030.

Jacobs is seeking re-election to represent the 118th District, and has commented on what he thinks the job needs:

“As your state representative, I have prided myself on being a thoughtful, common-sense conservative that you can be proud of,” Jacobs said. “I think the job requires someone that can exhibit maturity even in the toughest of situations. As you can see, my opponent’s campaign has resorted to some rather sophomoric tactics in the last couple of weeks. I’m working hard to earn your vote and your trust based on my solid, reliable, conservative record. Playing silly games won't get the job done.”

WSILTV also reported the House passed Senate Bill 58, reducing trailer fees. Jacobs said to WSILTV that the fee is $36.

In early May, Jacobs was endorsed by the Associated Firefighters of Illinois.

“I am pleased to have the endorsement of the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois. I will continue to stand up for those who risk so much to protect us,” Jacobs posted.

Since he announced his re-election bid in September 2021, Jacobs has sponsored bills to combat catalytic converter theft and to repeal the SAFE-T Act. He has also spoken out about the need for ethics reform after the indictment of former Speaker of the House Michael Madigan.
