Hardin County Community Unit District #1 Board of Education met April 7.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Regular meeting of the Hardin County Community Unit School District No. 1 met in the board room at the District office. The meeting was called to order by Greg Warren at 6:32 p.m. Present were Britt Belford, Nick McDowell, Denise Littrell, Greg Warren, Colby Potts, Greg McDowell, and Gene Fatheree. Administrators present: Andy Edmondson and Susan Armstrong.

Cassie Belford (Soccer/Track) and members of HCEA were recognized as guests.

Administrative Report: Mrs. Armstrong gave an update on day to day routines of returning to normal after lifted mandates. She discussed the new PE aide schedule, reviewed April and May calendar of events, discussed the 3 added calendar days, and the summer school calendar. Mrs. Armstrong also asked the Board to extend the offer of Archery to Jr. High next year.

A motion was made by Potts and seconded by Belford to approve the consent agenda as presented. G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; Warren, yes.7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by G. McDowell and seconded by N. McDowell to solicit bids for milk, bread, food services for the 2022-23 school year Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Potts and seconded by Littrell to approve SIMSS League / club and use of school facilities and a $10,000 budget. Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Fatheree and seconded by Potts to award the bid for the abatement project to A & A Abatement. Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes, Belford, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Littrell and seconded by N. McDowell reject the low bid Contractor contract of HE Mitchell. Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Belford and seconded by Potts to approve the final 2021-22 school calendar. N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; Warren, yes.

A motion was made by N. McDowell and seconded by Fatheree to approve the FFA trip to Murray Field Day. G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes, Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by N. McDowell and seconded by Litttrell to approve the MOU with Southern Seven Health Department. Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried

A motion was made by N. McDowell and seconded by Fatheree to enter into executive session at 7:35 p.m. Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by N. McDowell and seconded by Belford to exit executive session at 8:08 p.m. Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by G. McDowell and seconded by N. McDowell to approve the reassignment of Heather Sanders to High School English pending certification for the 2022-23 school year. Potts, yes, Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Potts and seconded by Belford to approve the reassignment of Kendra Wil Paraprofessional In-School position. Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes, Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Potts and seconded by N. McDowell to reassign April Vela to Paraprofessional Individual Aide. N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, abstain; Warren, yes. 6 yes, 0 no, 1 abstain, motion carried.

A motion was made by Littrell and seconded by Warren to accept the resignation of Cameron Alderson at the end of the 2021-22 school year. G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Fatheree and seconded by Potts to hire MaryBeth E. Bryant as Assistant Principal for the 2022-23 school year. Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Belford and seconded by N. McDowell to approve John L. Roberts to the District sub list. Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G.McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Fateree and seconded by G. McDowell hire Allison Sisk as Driver's Education teacher for the 2022-23 school year pending certification. Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Littrell and seconded by Fatheree to approve Cassie Belford as volunteer for Soccer & Track. Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.
