Hardin County Community Unit School District No. 1 Board of Education met Feb. 28.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Regular meeting of the Hardin County Community Unit School District No. 1 met in the board room at the District office. The meeting was called to order by Greg Warren at 6:30p.m. Present were Britt Belford, Nick McDowell, Denise Littrell, Greg Warren, Colby Potts, Greg McDowell, and Gene Fatheree. Administrators present: Andy Edmondson and Susan Armstrong.

A motion was made by Potts and seconded by Belford to approve the consent agenda as presented. G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Potts and seconded by Belford to accept bids for playground equipment with Nutoys Leisure Products at $120,970 with addendum for $16,080 for rubber mulch. Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, Ono, motion carried.

A motion was made by Fatheee and seconded by G. McDowell to accept the bid for lift station with J.M Jones, Inc. for $141,520. Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Fatheree and seconded by Littrell to approve the MOU with the HCEA for Driver's Education Teacher for 2022-23 school year. Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by N. McDowell and seconded by Potts to approve the resolution for notice of withdraw from PSIC insurance. Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Belford and seconded by Littrell to approve the lease of a vehicle for the Homeless grant. N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Fatheree and seconded by G. McDowell to approve $8500 assistance with transportation for the senior trip because of COVID. G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Littrell and seconded by Fatheree to accept the resignation of Riley Niehaus as Kindergarten teacher at the end of the 2021-22 school year. Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Fatheree and seconded by Belford to approve Susan Armstrong as PreK-12 Principal for the 2022-23 school year. Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Littrell and seconded by N. McDowell to approve the transfer/reassignment of Michael Milligan to Kindergarten for the 2022-23 school year. Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Fatheree and seconded by Littrell to approve Carolyn Rush as a Paraprofessional for the playground monitor position for the 2021-22 school year, Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by N. McDowell and seconded by G, McDowell to approve the resignation of Tyler Chance as High School English Teacher at the end of the 2021-22 school year. Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Fatheree and seconded by Belford to approve John Hubbs as volunteer assistant for High School Softball. Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by N. McDowell and seconded by Potts to approve Kathleen Robinson as 2nd grade teacher for the 2022-23 school year pending certification. Littrell, yes; N. McDowell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Belford, yes; Potts, yes; Warren, yes. 7 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Littrell and seconded by Fatheree to re-employ Kassi Ketten for the Full-Time temporary COVID paraprofessional position for 2021-22 school year.
