Opening The regular meeting of the Vienna Public School District #55 Board of Education was called to order by Mrs. Sherie Smith, President, at 6:00 p.m. with the following members present.

S. Borders, Vice-President

T. Betts, Secretary

P. Trovillion

L. Hook

S. Yadloksi K. Johnson

Absent None

Others Present G. Frehner, A. Hanks, T. Trovillion, A. Stram, S. Robinson.

Consent Agenda Motion by Border seconded by Betts to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Yadloski, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Business of the Administration

Closed Session

Motion by Betts seconded by Hook to go in to closed session at 7:10 p.m. to discuss (1) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of employees of the District or legal counsel for the District including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the District or against legal counsel of the

District, to determine its validity. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Yadloski, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Motion by Hook seconded by Borders to come out of closed session and return to regular open session at 7:54 p.m. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Yadloski, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Let the records show the following items were discussed: (1) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of employees of the District or legal counsel for the District including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the District or against legal counsel of the District, to determine its validity.

Beta Club Attendance to Conventions

Motion by Johnson seconded by Betts to authorize the junior high Beta Club's attendance at the 2022 state and national conventions, respectively. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Yadloski, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

City of Vienna Police Department MOU

Motion by Borders seconded by Betts to approve the Vienna Public School District #55 andd City of Vienna Police Department general law enforcement memorandum of understanding, as presented. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Yadloski, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Resignation Mrs. Smith read a letter of resignation from Michael Jackson.

Motion by Betts seconded by Borders to accept the resignation of bus driver, Michael Jackson, effective October 15, 2021. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Yadloski, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Certificate of Compliance Motion by Hook seconded by Yadloski to approve a certificate of compliance with the Truth in Taxation Law at least 20 days preceding the adoption of the intention of the District to levy taxes in excess of 105% of the amount of taxes extended or estimated to be extended, as presented. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Yadloski, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Other

November 15 is Illinois' School Board Members' Day. Vienna Grade School commends its board members for their dedication and service to its students, staff, and District.

Everyone attending the triple I conference in November is registered.

The Christmas party is being planned for December 10.

Adjourn Motion by Yadloski seconded by Betts to adjourn at 8:05 p.m. All voted yea. Motion carried.
