Report: County of Union School District spent $10,720 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at County of Union School District 43 was up 57.1 percent from five years ago, according to the Southern Illinois News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Union County school district spent $6,822 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,720 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 435 to 403 students over the same period.

County of Union's spending in 2019-20 was 26 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
