Report: Vienna School District spent $9,622 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Vienna Elementary School District 55 was up 16.1 percent from five years ago, according to the Southern Illinois News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Johnson County school district spent $8,287 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,622 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 428 to 383 students over the same period.

Vienna's spending in 2019-20 was 33.6 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
