Report: Anna School District spent $9,217 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Anna Community School District No. 37 Board of Education was up 24.4 percent from five years ago, according to the Southern Illinois News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Union County school district spent $7,410 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,217 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 720 to 649 students over the same period.

Anna's spending in 2019-20 was 36.4 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
