Report: Dongola School District spent $10,639 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Dongola Unit School District 66 was down 3.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Southern Illinois News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Union County school district spent $10,997 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,639 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 283 to 271 students over the same period.

Dongola's spending in 2019-20 was 26.6 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
