New Simpson Hill Community School District #32 Board of Education met Sept. 9.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
Acting President Widowski called the Budget Hearing of September 09, 2021, to order at 6:05PM.
Present were: Treat, Baity, Mize, and Widowski. Hoffard, Ross, and Hill were absent.
Administration present: Mr. Nighswander. Mrs. Armstrong was absent.
Superintendent gave a presentation of the budget.
No testimony was given.
Motion by Treat seconded by Baity to adjourn the special meeting, carried.
Acting President Widowski called the regular board meeting of September 09, 2021, to order at 6:10PM.
Present were: Treat, Baity, Mize, and Widowski. Hoffard, Ross, and Hill were absent.
Administration present: Mr. Nighswander. Mrs. Armstrong was absent.
Motion by Baity seconded by Treat to approve and make public record the closed session minutes of the 08-19-21 board meeting, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Baity to approve the financial report as presented and payment of
the bills as listed in the amount of $196,770., carried.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: Enrollment/Mobility Report; Calendar; Maintenance Grants, New board member training
Motion by Baity seconded by Widowski to set a special board meeting for September 27, 2021 carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Widowski to authorize the Superintendent to begin work on the 2022 tax levy, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Widowski to approve the Emergency/Crisis Management Plan as presented, carried.
Motion by Baity seconded by Mize to convene to closed session at 7:13 pm to discuss:
• Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)
Motion by Widowski seconded by Baity to resume open session at 7:29, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Widowski to accept the resignation of Sara Goddard as Beta Club co-sponsor effective immediately, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Baity to employ Lily Greer as Beta Club co-sponsor for the FY22 school year, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Widowski to adjourn, carried.
