Greenville College Athletic Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 14
The men's basketball team completed the 2021 portion of their season schedule when they were upended 143-102 at Wisconsin-Whitewater on Tuesday night.
The Panthers trailed 70-50 at halftime before being outpaced 73-52 in the second half.
Starter Jarred Johnson finished as GU's top scorer with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field and 3-of-5 three-pointers. He converted 1-of-2 free throws and added a team-high six assists and four steals. Fellow starter Kaidyn Johnson recorded 16 points.
Everett Campbell and Cam Irvin paced Greenville's second unit with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
The Panthers were out rebounded 53-31 in the game. Trenton Lee and Chris Jackson were GU's top rebounders with four in the game.
Overall, GU shot 38.9 percent from the field with 35-of-90 made attempts, including 17-of-52 three pointers. The Panthers converted 15-of-22 free throws.
The Warhawks made 74.1 percent of their shots with 60-of-81 successful field goal attempts. UWW shot 8-of-17 behind the three-point arc and made 15-of-23 free throws.
Greenville (1-9) will travel to Millikin for their final non-conference game on New Year's Day.
