New Simpson Hill District #32 Board of Education met Oct. 14.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Vice President Hill called the regular board meeting to order at 6:01PM.

Present were: Mize, Ross, Hill, Widowski, Treat, and Baity. Hoffard was absent.

Administration present: Mr. Nighswander

Motion by Mize seconded by Treat to approve the minutes of the 09-09-21 regular and special board meeting, carried.

Motion by Treat seconded by Baity to approve the minutes of the 09-27-21 special board meeting, carried.

Motion by Baity seconded by Widowski to approve the financial report as presented and payment of the bills as listed in the amount of $181,411., carried.

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: Enrollment/Mobility, Calendar, American Rescue Plan, Bus sale

Motion by Mize seconded by Widowski to approve the FY21 audit as presented, carried.

Motion by Ross seconded by Treat to approve the FY22 Administrator salary and benefits report, carried.

Motion by Mize seconded by Widowski to approve the FY22 library grant as presented, carried.

Motion by Ross seconded by Widowski to review the E-Learning program, carried.

Motion by Treat seconded by Baity to convene to closed session at 7:26 pm to discuss:

Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)

Motion by Treat seconded by Baity to resume open session at 7:29, carried.

Motion by Baity seconded by Mize to authorize the Superintendent to advertise for a Speech Pathologist position, carried.

Motion by Widowski seconded by Ross to adjourn, carried.
