Q2 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Massac County?

There were two offenders living in Massac County released on parole during the second quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Southern Illinois News.

The data shows both of the released offenders in Massac County were men. The younger parolee was a 33-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2020. The other was a 43-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2019.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Robert W. Riley. He was convicted of a financial crime or fraud in 2019 when he was 40 years old. He is now 43.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2021 in each Massac County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
