Q1 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Alexander County?

There were four offenders living in Alexander County released on parole during the first quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Southern Illinois News.

The data shows two men and two women were released in Alexander County. The median age of the parolees was 43. The youngest parolee was a 32-year-old woman sentenced for homicide in 2016, and the oldest was a 56-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2020.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Samantha D. Dean. She was convicted of homicide in 2016 when she was 27 years old. She is now 32.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2021 in each Alexander County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
