State Sen. Dale Fowler (R-Harrisburg) is among a trio of Republican lawmakers now crisscrossing the downstate area for their Regional Listening Tour.
With a scheduled stop at Anna on Oct. 7 at Anna-Jonesboro Community High beginning at 6 p.m., Fowler is to be joined by fellow Republican Sens. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) and Jason Plummer (R-Edwardsville).
The event is being heralded as an opportunity for residents of the districts to be heard about the issues that are most critical to them and their livelihoods.
"Mark your calendars,” Bryant posted on Facebook. “Together, Senator Fowler, Senator Plummer and I represent over two dozen of Southern Illinois’ counties. We have such unique, diverse communities and represent residents who have different needs and perspectives. They all deserve to have a voice in their state government.”
Bryant said making the time and putting forth the effort to engage in the tour was an easy decision.
“I wanted to host this event so that the collective voices of Southern Illinois could be heard by their lawmakers and to help us as legislators better represent the interest of Southern Illinois in the Senate," she added.
Serving as the minority spokesperson on both the Senate Commerce and Higher Education committees, Fowler has served the 59th District since 2017.
