New Simpson Hill District #32 Board of Education Met June 10.
Here is the minutes provided by the board:
President Hoffard called the regular board meeting of June 10, 2021, to order at 6:00PM.
Present were: Hoffard, Mize, Ross, Hill, Widowski, and Treat. Baity was absent.
Administration present: Mr. Nighswander and Mrs. Armstrong
Motion by Widowski seconded by Hill to approve the minutes of the 05-13-21 regular board meeting, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Treat to approve the financial report as presented and payment of the bills as listed in the amount of $44,340., carried.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: Playground Project, Calendar, Mobility/Enrollment Report
Motion by Ross seconded by Hill to approve the 2021-22 parent/student handbook as presented, carried.
Motion by Ross seconded by Widowski to approve the construction of a batting cage facility for an amount up to $15,000., carried.
Motion by Ross seconded by Treat to continue in the IASB sponsored Worker’s Compensation Self-Insurance Trust for FY22 presented and in Illinois School District Agency for property/casualty for Fy22 as presented, carried.
Motion by Hill seconded by Mize to approve the resolution to abate the working cash fund for $320,000 to the building fund as presented, carried.
Motion by Ross seconded by Treat to convene to closed session at 7:05 pm to discuss:
•Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)
•Collective bargaining matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberation concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2)
Motion by Treat seconded by Widowski to resume open session at 7:20, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Ross to employee Beth Palmer as Pre-K teacher for the 2021-22 school year, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Widowski to employ Branon Waters as Boys Assistant Basketball Coach for the 2021-22 season, carried.
Motion by Widowski seconded by Hill to employ Breanna Bain and Lily Greer as 8th grade co-sponsors for the 2021-22 school year, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Ross to accept the collective bargaining agreement between the NSH EA and the New Simpson Hill Board of Education as presented, carried.
Motion by Hill seconded by Treat to adjourn, carried.
