New Simpson Hill District Board of Education Met May 13.
Here is the minutes provided by the board:
President Hoffard called the regular board meeting to order at 6:00PM.
Present were: Hoffard, Mize, Ross, Hill, Widowski, Treat, and Baity.
Administration present: Mr. Nighswander and Mrs. Armstrong
Motion by Hill seconded by Widowski to approve the minutes of the 04-27-21 special board meeting, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Ross to approve the financial report as presented and payment of the bills as listed in the amount of $59,355., carried.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: Calendar, Mobility/Enrollment Report, Graduation
Motion by Widowski seconded by Hill to accept the price quote for grounds maintenance from Kelley Lawncare as presented, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Ross to appoint Racheal Huckelberry as board treasurer, carried.
Motion by Ross seconded by Hill to accept the 2021-22 fee modification as presented, carried.
Motion by Ross seconded by Hill to convene to closed session at 6:45 pm to discuss:
•Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)
Motion by Treat seconded by Ross to resume open session at 7:01, carried.
Motion by Baity seconded by Widowski to rehire Educational Support Personnel for 2021-22 school year with salaries as presented, carried.
Motion by Widowski seconded by Baity to employ the coaching positions for the 2021-22 school year as presented, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Ross to authorize the Superintendent to advertise for the Boy’s Assistant Basketball coach for the 2021-22 season, carried.
Motion by Ross seconded by Baity to adjourn, carried.
