Village of Niles Board of Trustees Met May 11.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

CALL TO ORDER 

The Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Andrew Przybylo in the Council Chambers, Village of Niles Municipal Building. 

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 

President Przybylo led the Pledge of Allegiance. 

ROLL CALL 

Village Clerk Marlene Victorine called the roll. Board members present were President Andrew Przybylo, Trustees George D. Alpogianis, John C. Jekot, Danette O'Donovan Matyas, Denise McCreery, Craig Niedermaier and Dean Strzelecki. 

PROCLAMATION 

Proclamation Honoring the Service of Village President Andrew Przybylo for 34 Years of Service: 

1987-1989 Planning and Zoning Board Commissioner 

1989-2013 Village Trustee 

2013-2021 Village President 

PRESENTATION 

A Northern Catalpa tree has been planted on Normal Avenue by Our Lady of Ransom Church in honor of Mayor Andrew Przybylo for his dedicated service to the Village of Niles and in recognition of his commitment to sustainable practices, protecting the environment and advocating for trees as part of economic vitality. Under Mayor Przybylo's leadership, the Village of Niles earned the Tree City USA designation. The tree is planted to honor his leadership and vision as an elected official of the Village of Niles. 

SWEARING-IN OF NEWLY ELECTED OFFICIALS 

The Honorable Judge Anthony C. Kyriakopoulos administered the Oath of Office to: 

Trustee Danette O'Donovan Matyas – re-elected(Exhibit A) 

Trustee John C. Jekot re-elected (Exhibit B) 

Trustee Joe LoVerde newly re-elected (Exhibit C). 

Village President George D. Alpogianis (Exhibit D) 

SPECIAL PRESENTATION 

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White congratulated Village President/Mayor George D. Alpogianis and presented him with a special Illinois License Plate with the #2 that is given to Mayors and Presidents from the Illinois Secretary of State's office. 

President Alpogianis recognized the current Trustees Denise McCreery, Craig Niedermaier and Dean Strzelecki and thanked the newly elected Trustees for their selfless dedication to the Village of Niles. President Alpogianis thanked those in attendance and Village staff and stated that he and Board are looking forward to serving the residents of the Village of Niles. 

ADJOURNMENT 

There being no further business to come before the Board, motion to adjourn was made by Trustee LoVerde, seconded by Trustee Jekot. On roll call, all concurred. The meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
