Village of Niles Public Safety Committee Met Oct. 20.
Here is the minutes provided by the committee:
I. Call to Order: at 09:00, with Trustee Strzelecki, Trustee O’Donovan Matyas (Via Phone), Chief Tigera, Chief Feld, Director Braun, Deputy Chief Greiner, Deputy Chief Penze, T. Fidanza
II. Approval of the Minutes from both Public Works and Public Safety Committees: A motion to approve the August 21, 2020 was made by Chief Tigera and seconded by T. Fidanza. There were no objections.
III. New Business
a. Drones: Chief Tigera presented a proposal for the Village’s purchasing of a commercial grade drone to be utilized by Police, Fire and Public Works departments. After a lengthy discussion, both the Public Safety and Public Work’s Committees approved the purchase of the drone for the use of all Departments.
b. Pace Advertising on the Free Buses: Director Fred Braun reported that Pace would be adding advertising on the Free Buses. The Village of Niles will not be receiving any revenue from these advertisements.
c. Other Business: The subject of racism was discussed.
