CORPORATE COUNSEL:

Corporate Counsel shared the rate study information conducted yearly by IMEA. The study showed a comparison from investor-owned utilities, like Ameren, co-ops and where we compare to others. In 2020 our rate average was 13.26 cents per kilowatt hour and 12.64 cents in 2019. The city’s electricity is municipal owned and serve our own distribution system. We are not the cheapest, we won’t be the highest, we are somewhere in the middle. We feel our rates are very competitive and hopefully, we get through COVID and our usage will be a little more normal, we could see our rates go back down to under 13 cents.
