Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Apr. 26. 

From the Office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest Summary, April 18-24, 2021;

April 21, 2021

Michael T Benton, 39, Metropolis was arrested in the 100 block of E. 19th St. Benton was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by McCracken County, KY, for possession of Meth. Benton was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Metropolis Officers arrested Jeramine R Haymes,42, Metropolis at his residence in the 1800 block of Neville. Officers had been called there for a disturbance. The victim advised that she had been held there against her will. Officers have been at this residence numerous times for domestic disturbance calls. This investigation led to Haymes being charged with unlawful restraint. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

April 23, 2021

Metropolis Officer were called to a disturbance on Coburn Dr. Upon arrival, Officers met with the owner of a business who stated that a female, later identified as Rebecca Mae Crenshaw-Williams, 33, Golconda was acting crazy and hallucinating. She was seeing things that were not happening and screaming and swearing at him and customers. Officers tried to speak and reason with her but she continued her antics. Officers learned that a previous shift had taken her to Massac Memorial Hospital for treatment a few days earlier. Hospital personnel could not provide any information on her care due to privacy concerns. Crenshaw was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center. .

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
