Hardin County ranked 95th in Illinois for resident earnings in 2018

Hardin County ranked 95th among counties in Illinois by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Hardin County residents was $22,078 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 1,438 households with a population of 4,009.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was DuPage County with $40,431 per year after adjusting for inflation – $18,353 more than Hardin County. It had 341,823 households with a population of 931,743.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was McDonough County with $20,723 per year after adjusting for inflation – $1,355 less than Hardin County. It had 11,292 households with a population of 30,875.
