Ana-Illinois issued the following announcement on Mar. 30.
For several years, ANA-Illinois has been telling legislators that the profession will find solutions if given the opportunity. During the March meeting, the Board of Directors heard from the ANA-Illinois Legislative Committee about the need to address the ongoing concern in nursing education regarding access and affordability. Therefore, the ANA-Illinois Board of Directors unanimously voted to create an Expert Panel on Nursing Education. This panel will explore the current state of nursing education in Illinois and make recommendations to the Board on how ANA-Illinois and our partners can proactively address the education and preparation of individuals interested in entering the profession.
An open call for ANA-Illinois members interested in serving on this panel is below.
ANA-Illinois Board of Directors is issuing a Call for Applications for expert panel members who will guide the association in proactively addressing nursing education issues that limit our ability to address the supply of nurses and the level of health care services needed in Illinois. The expert panel will meet primarily by conference call and via e-mail starting in August 2020. For panel members’ planning purposes, this work’s time commitment is estimated at 12-18 months.
