Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Feb. 23. 

From the Office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest Summary, February 1-20, 2021

February 3, 2021

While on patrol, a Metropolis Officer ran a license check on a white Honda that had passed him bearing WI license plates. The computer response showed that the vehicle had been reported stolen. A traffic stop was conducted. Rohit Naik, 36, Metropolis was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

February 8, 2021

Kendall D. Floyd, 53, Metropolis was arrested for theft at the Acee’s Truck Stop. The investigation revealed that on 5 separate occasions, Floyd would pump gas into his vehicle and then walk around the store and then leave without paying for the gasoline. Floyd was released on bond. 

February 18, 2021

A Metropolis Sergeant observed a grey Dodge Durango being driven by Paul C McClamma, 64, Metropolis. The Sergeant was aware that McClamma had a suspended driver’s license. A traffic stop was conducted at 5th and Metropolis. A computer check revealed that McClamma still had a suspended license. McClamma also stated that he had just left the courthouse on a previous charge of driving while suspended. McClamma was charged and released on bond.

February 19, 2021

A Metropolis Officer observed Kyle B. Hurst,34, Metropolis, inside Big John’s Grocery Store. The officer was aware that Hurst was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for Violation of an order of protection. Hurst was taken into custody and found to be in possession of Methamphetamine and Hydrocodone. Hurst was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of Meth. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
