New Simpson Hill Consolidated School District Board of Education met Jan. 14

President Hoffard called the special board meeting to order at 6:00PM. Present were: Hoffard, Craig, Mize, Ross, Hill, Widowski, and Treat. Administration present:
Mr. Nighswander and Mrs. Armstrong
Superintendent gave testimony on the tution waiver resolution,
Having no more testimony, the meeting adjourned at 6:06PM.
President Hoffard called the regular board meeting of January 14, 2021, to order at 6:07PM.
Present were: Hoffard, Craig,Mize, Ross, Hill, Widowski, and Treat.
Administration present: Mr. Nighswander and Mrs. Armstrong
Motion by Ross seconded by Widowski to approve the minutes of the 12-10-20 special board meeting, carried.
Motion by Ross seconded by Widowski to approve the minutes of the 12-10-20 regular board meeting, carried
Motion by Ross seconded by Widowski to approve and make public record the closed session minutes of the 12-10-20 board meeting, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Hill to approve the financial report as presented and payment of the bills as listed in the amount of $11,040., carried.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: Enrollment/Mobility Report, Calendar, Legislative Education Bill (HB 2170), Playground update, COVID-19 update
Motion by Treat seconded by Ross to approve the 2020-21 staff seniority list as presented, unanimous.
Motion by Widowski seconded by Mize to approve policies 3:40, 4:80, 4 ;90, 5:720, 6:20, 6:340, 7:100, 7:140, 7:300 as presented, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Hill to approve the resolution regarding a modification or waiver request seeking to waiver and/or modify Section 10-20.12a of the Illinois School Code to allow the District to charge less than 110% of the per capita tuition charge for non-resident children of full-time and part-time employees of Vienna High School District 13-3. In lieu of per capita tuition, New Simpson Hill District #32 will claim the students on their enrollment count and for average daily attendance as applicable, carried.
Motion by Hill seconded by Treat to convene to closed session at 7:27 pm to discuss:
•Discussion of minutes of meetings lawfully closed under the Open Meetings Act, whether for purposes of approval by the body of the minutes of semi-annual review of the minutes as mandated by Section 2.06 5 ILCS 120/2c (14)
•Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)
•The placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters relating to individual students. 5 ILCS 120/2 (C)(10) carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Widowski to resume open session at 7:40, carried.
Motion by Craig seconded by Hill to leave the closed session minutes dated 12/10/82, 1/14/83, 2/17/83, 10/8/85, 11/11/85, and 10/7/04 closed to the public, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Ross to adjourn, carried.
