Q2 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Massac County?

There were four offenders released on parole during the second quarter of 2020 that live in Massac County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Southern Illinois News.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Massac County were men. The median age of the parolees was 40. The youngest parolee was a 28-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2020, and the oldest was a 61-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Edward E. McGrew. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2018 when he was 59 years old. He is now 61.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2020 in each Massac County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
