VILLAGE OF GOREVILLE: Goreville FFA collecting stories about the role women played in World War II

Civil war

Village of Goreville issued the following announcement on Jan. 24.

The Goreville FFA Chapter is collecting stories about the role women played in World War II. We are looking for stories from the widows and wives from WWII, women that either had a husband that served in WWII or from women that served themselves. These stories can be from either the individual themselves or stories that have been passed down from generation to generation. We just ask that the stories be relatively detailed. We are in search of 25 stories from the WWII era and how the war affected the women, children, and families left here in the states. The stories are going to be compiled and published in a book titled WWII: Widows and Wives too. Please contact Jeff Robison at Goreville School 618-771-6852 if you have a story that we can use in the book.
