Union County Board of Commissioners Met Dec. 11.

The Union County Board of Commissioners met for a regular meeting in the Union County Courthouse Community Room at 8:30 A.M. Roll call was taken and Max Miller, Dale Foster, David Gould, Kent Pitts and Darryl Harvell were present. Deputy County Clerk Brandi Boyd called the meeting to order for the annual reorganization of the Union County Commissioners Board and asked for County Board Chairman nomination(s). Commissioner David Gould nominated Max Miller to be County Board Chairman and seconded by Commissioner Dale Foster.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Commissioner Pitts talked about Animal Control and informed the Commissioners that everything is going smoothly and they have been receiving many calls.
Commissioner Miller stated at this time he is not appointing the Commissioners to any committees. He is going to review and talk with the Commissioners to see which committee or committees they are interested to be appointed.

E) County Employee Health Care contributions effective January 1, 2021
County Administrator Angie Johnson explained that this is for non-union employees so they pay the same as union employees for their portion of the health insurance. A motion was made by Commissioner Foster and seconded by Commissioner Gould to approve the county employee health care contributions effective January 1, 2021.

OTHER BUSINESS:
Commissioner Harvell talked about the different boards/committees that he would like to be part of during his term. He addressed the road conditions and litter problems the county is facing. He also mentioned helping the schools with security issues.
Commissioner Miller will take his issues under consideration and will make his board/committee appointments at a later date. Some changes have taken some time but progress is being made in the County.
