Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 19. 

From the Office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest Summary, January 10-16, 2021;

January 10, 2021

Metropolis officers were called to a residence in the 1800 block of Market for a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers learned that the victim had been str5uck and thrown around the residence. Nicholas S McLeod, 29, Metropolis was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

January 11, 2021

A Metropolis Officer observed a silver Mazda SUV stopped at the stop sign on Market and 5th. The officer observed that the driver was passed out. The officer also observed that the vehicle was running and in drive with the driver having his foot on the brake. Once awoken, the officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath and other signs of intoxication. The driver, Kendall D. Floyd, 53, Golconda failed the field sobriety tests. Floyd was arrested for DUI and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center. 

 January 15, 2021

An employee of the Dollar General observed a subject remove a pair of pants from a clothes rack on display outside the store. The subject then placed the pants inside her vehicle. The subject never paid for the pants. Metropolis Officers arrived and upon the subject exiting the store, Officers learned that she still had not paid for the item. Davanna K Perkins, 24, Symsonia KY was arrested and charged with retail theft. Perkins was taken to the Metropolis Police Department for processing. She was given a court date and released on bond.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
