Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 8.
From the Office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest Summary, November 25-December 5, 2020;
November 25, 2020
Paul P. Mayotte,26, Metropolis was arrested in the parking lot of Citgo. Mayotte was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by KY for a parole violation. Mayotte was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
December 2, 2020
Metropolis Officers were called to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 1800 block of Neville. Upon arrival, Officers met with the callers. Both had visible injuries. Both continued to be combative and belligerent to each other. After numerous attempts to calm them down and get the complete story, Officers arrested Jamie E. Sawyers,32, Metropolis and Jimmy D Sawyers,66, Metropolis for Domestic Battery. Both were lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
