Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 1.

November 1, 2020
Metropolis Officers were called to Huck’s for a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers met with the victim and viewed video. The video showed that a subject identified as Devin B Heine, 18, Metropolis smashed the victims cell phone. A Massac county Deputy went to the residence of Heine and located him. Heine was arrested for Criminal Damage to property. Heine was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
November 2, 2020
A Metropolis Officer stopped a maroon Pontiac on US 45 and Devers for no valid registration. A computer check revealed that the driver, Jamie D Miller,35, Kevil KY had a suspended driver’s license. Miler could not provide proof of insurance. Miller was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and no valid registration. Miller was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
November 3, 2020
Rebecca Mae Crenshaw, 32, Golconda was arrested in the 1200 block of Catherine. Crenshaw was wanted on warrants. The warrants were issued by Pope and Massac Counties for failure to appear in court. Crenshaw was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
November 6, 2020
Daniel W. Sledd,37, Metropolis was arrested in the 1200 block of Metropolis St. Sledd had violated a no stalking/no contact order. Sledd was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
James L. Knott,67, Metropolis was arrested on 12th and Ferry. Knott was wanted on two warrants. The warrants were issued by Massac County for failure to appear in court. Knott was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
November 9, 2020
Metropolis Officers were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 100 block of Market St. Upon arrival, the victim’s advised that the offender was leaving on foot. Officer located the offender whom they identified as John L Huffman, 45, Metropolis. Huffman was extremely belligerent and yelling and screaming. Investigation revealed that Huffman struck one of the victims with a broom stick. Huffman was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal trespass to property. As Huffman was being taken into custody, He began fighting with the officers, kicking one of the offers in the leg. Huffman was charged with criminal trespass to property, disorderly conduct, aggravated assault, aggravated battery and resisting arrest. Huffman was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
November 11, 2020
Metropolis Officers were called to a crash in the 500 block of W. 9th. The driver, Jay B Tyson,27, Metropolis was distracted and struck a parked car. A computer check revealed that Tyson had a suspended driver’s license. Tyson was charged and released on bond.
Sonya I Sledd,38, Metropolis was arrested in the 1200 block of Metropolis St. Sledd was charged with Criminal Trespass to Property after returning to a residence after being previously trespassed from the property. Sledd was released on bond.
November 19, 2020
Metropolis Officers responded to the Family Dollar Store on W. 10th for a theft. Upon arrival, Officers met with the two victims who stated that their phones and purse were taken from their vehicle. Officers viewed video from the store and recognized the thief. The sergeant recognized Helen R. Cissell,46 who lives on Grace Drive in Metropolis as the person who took the items from the vehicle. Officers located Cissell and the stolen items at the residence. Cissell was charged with Burglary to auto, and two counts of theft. She was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Metropolis Officers ere called to the Citgo on E. 5th St. The caller advised that two people had stolen Lottery tickets from the store and left. The theft was captured on video. The offenders left in a black Jeep Compass. Officers viewed the video and obtained a description of the thieves. A Massac County Deputy located the Jeep and the offenders inside the Acee’s Truck Stop. They were observed scanning the lottery tickets. Metropolis Officers recognized the offenders from the video at Citgo. Melissa S Miller,43, Princeton KY and Jonathan M Griffin,38, Calvert City, KY were arrested. A search of the Jeep located a pill bottle containing Alprozolam a controlled substance. Both were charged with Burglary, Theft and possession of a controlled substance. They were lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
November 20, 2020
Metropolis Officers were called to the Super 8 Motel on E. 5th St. Officers met with the Manager who showed them a room that had been damaged. The offender, Myron K Webb,55, Brookport was located at the Huddle House Restaurant. Webb admitted that he rented the room and was alone. He denied trashing the room. Webb was arrested for criminal damage to property and released on bond.
November 22, 2020
Metropolis Officers were called to a disturbance in the 1200 block of Baynes. Upon arrival, one of the persons advised that she had a loaded handgun and had placed it on the dashboard of her vehicle. Whitney L Gray-McIntosh, 32, Paducah, KY did not have an IL concealed carry permit. She was arrested for Unlawful use of a weapon-No CCL and released on bond.
November 23, 2020
Metropolis Officers responded to the Hardee’s. Management had called because an employee was laying on a bench and refused to go back to work or leave the restaurant. While enroute, dispatch ran a computer check on the employee, Ethan D Hertter,21, Metropolis. Hertter was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for Domestic Battery. Upon arrival and speaking with Hertter, Officers observed that his behavior and speech were consistent with drug abuse. Hertter was taken to the Massac Memorial Hospital to be checked out. Upon discharge he was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Metropolis Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 300 block of E. 10th. Investigation revealed that the victim was struck in the face multiple times. Buffy J. Parker,39, Metropolis was arrested for Domestic Battery and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
