Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Oct. 27.

October 20, 2020
Metropolis Officers were called to the dollar General Store on W. 10th St. Upon arrival, Officers met with an employee who stated that a subject had put items in her purse and attempted to leave without paying for them. Alisha M. Moreland, 18, Karnak was pointed out by the employee as the offender. Moreland was arrested for Retail Theft. Moreland was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center pending bond.
October 21, 2020
Metropolis Officers were called to Cordovino’s Restaurant. Upon arrival, Officers met with the employee who stated that a subject identified as Myron K. Webb,35, Brookport, attempted to leave without paying for his meal and drink. Webb advised he was going to the bank to get the money. Officers escorted Webb to the bank, however, he had insufficient funds. Webb was charged with Theft and taken to the Metropolis Police Department for processing. Webb was released on bond.
October 23, 2020
Samuel S Stallions, 39, Metropolis was arrested in the 1200 block of Baynes. Stallions was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by the IL Department of Corrections for a parole violation. Stallions was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
October 25, 2020
A Metropolis Officer stopped a white Dodge pick-up truck on US 45 and Devers. A computer check revealed that the registration had been cancelled for failure to maintain insurance. A computer check on the driver, Christopher A Armour, 41, Paducah, KY had a revoked driver’s license. Armour was arrested and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
