Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Oct. 14.
From the Office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest Summary, October 1-11, 2020;
October 3, 2020
Richard Greathouse,32, Metropolis was arrested in the 700 block of Catherine. Greathouse was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for retail Theft. Greathouse was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
October 8, 2020
A 17-year-old male was arrested at 5th and Scott St. The juvenile was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for Assault. The juvenile was turned over to the Massac County Sheriff’s office.
October 9, 2020
Robert W. Wheeler,71, Metropolis was arrested tin the 700 block of E. 5th St. Wheeler was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for failure to appear on a Domestic Battery charge. Wheeler was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
October 11, 2020
Metropolis Officers were called to the Massac memorial Hospital for a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers learned that Damon M. Smith, 50, Brookport had punched a uniformed EMT from the ambulance service in the face. Smith was arrested for Aggravated Battery and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
