Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Union County?

There were 10 offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in Union County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Southern Illinois News.

The data shows that seven men and three women were released in Union County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 38. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2018, and the oldest was a 54-year-old woman sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Polly A. Quintana. She was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2017 when she was 51 years old. She is now 54.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
