Goreville Volunteer Fire Department responded to 30 calls in 2018 - 25 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Goreville included 27 fires - 17 structure fires, four vehicle fires and six other fires.

In all, the department saw $704,700 in fire loss - or about $26,100 per fire.

The department also received three false calls.
