METROPOLIS POLICE DEPARTMENT: From the Office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest Summary, August 9-15, 2020

Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 18. 

From the Office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest Summary, August 9-15, 2020;

August 9, 2020

Metropolis Officer were called to Casey’s General Store on W. 10th St. The caller stated that Jonathon Rideout,42, Bardwell, KY had violated an active order of protection. The caller stated that he and the protectee was being harassed by Rideout. Further investigation revealed that Rideout attempted to run over or strike one of the victims with his vehicle after trying to fight with him in the parking lot. Officers viewed video of the incident which confirmed the statements given by the two victims. While speaking with the victims, Rideout called the store again in violation of the Order of protection. Officers spoke with Rideout. And advised him he cannot call the store. Rideout called back 2 additional times. Officers then began looking for Rideout. He was observed driving and a stop was made in the 700 block of E. 12th St. Rideout showed signs of impairment. Rideout failed the field sobriety tests. Rideout was arrested. He was charged with DUI, Violation of an order of protection, Aggravated Assault and Assault. Rideout was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Metropolis Officers were called to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 200 block of E. 5th St. Investigation revealed that the victim was attacked by Tori Farris,25, Metropolis and a 17-year-old juvenile. Farris was arrested for Domestic Battery and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center. The 17-year-old was arrested for Battery and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. She was taken to the Metropolis Police Dept for processing and then released to a parent pending the court date.

August 14, 2020

Chris L. Jones, 45, Paducah was arrested on 2nd and Metropolis St. Jones was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for driving while license suspended. Jones was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Metropolis Officers were called to 7th and Pearl. An off duty Sheriff’s deputy advised that Daryl W. Kommer,38, Metropolis threw a bottle at his vehicle. When the deputy confronted him, Kommer made threatening actions which led the deputy to believe they were gong to fight. Kommer was aware that the victim was a deputy. Kommer was arrested for disorderly conduct and aggravated assault. Kommer was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
