Q4 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Hardin County?

There were three offenders released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2019 that live in Hardin County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Southern Illinois News.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Hardin County were men. The median age of the parolees was 43. The youngest parolee was a 32-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017, and the oldest was a 55-year-old man sentenced for homicide in 1995.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Troy D. Pennell. He was convicted of homicide in 1995 when he was 30 years old. He is now 55.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the fourth quarter of 2019 in each Hardin County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
