Q4 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Johnson County?

There were three offenders released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2019 that live in Johnson County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Southern Illinois News.

The data shows that two men and one woman were released in Johnson County. The median age of the parolees was 39. The youngest parolee was a 38-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2018, and the oldest was a 42-year-old woman sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Gary D. Rushing. He was convicted of a property crime in 2015 when he was 33 years old. He is now 38.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the fourth quarter of 2019 in each Johnson County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
