Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on July 1.

June 22, 2020
Metropolis Officers were called to a residence in the 1100 block of Ophia. The caller stated that Michael D. Anderson had pulled into her driveway and was yelling for his daughter. Anderson has a active order of protection prohibiting him to be at that location. A Massac County Deputy observed Anderson’s vehicle driving down 10th St. A stop was made and upon arrival of the metropolis Officers, Anderson was arrested. Anderson was charged with Violation of an order of protection. Anderson was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
A Metropolis Officer stopped a motorcycle on Girard at 10th for no registration. A computer check on the driver, Brian K. Wilson,33, Metropolis showed he had a suspended driver’s license. Wilson could not provide insurance. Wilson was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. Wilson was released on bond.
June 23, 2020
A Metropolis Sergeant observed a gold colored Buick on Lois Lane approaching North Ave. The Sergeant recognized the driver, Pierre l Harris,35, Metropolis who has a revoked drivers license. A traffic stop was conducted and Harris was arrested. He was released on bond.
Metropolis Officers were called to the Sonic Drive-In. Officers spoke to the victim who stated that a male subject entered his vehicle but the victim was able to get the offender out of the vehicle and the offender fled. While handling this call, Officers were called to a nearby residence in the 1200 block of E. 7th St. This victim stated that a subject tried to enter her home via the car port entrance. A Massac County Deputy and a Metropolis Officer checked the garage and located the offender. Angel L Guajardo,41, Homeless stated was charged with Residential Burglary and Criminal Trespass to Property. Guajardo was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
June 24, 2020
Metropolis Officers were called to the Huck’s. The clerk advised that a male subject entered the store and was leaving without paying for his merchandise. When confronted, the subject threatened the clerk and left the store. A Metropolis Sergeant located the subject in the Walgreen’s parking lot. When stopped the subject balled up his fists and advanced towards the Sergeant. The offender was advised that this was not a smart move and he turned to walk away. The Sergeant then took the subject into custody. William C Ulrich,30, Homeless was charged with Robbery and two counts of Aggravated Assault. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
June 25, 2020
A Metropolis Sergeant observed a blue Dodge flatbed truck proceeding down 5th St. The Sergeant recognized the driver, Jimmy D Werner,42, Golconda who has a suspended driver’s license. A computer check confirmed the suspension. A traffic stop was conducted on 7th St. Werner was charged with driving while suspended and released on bond.
June 26, 2020
A Metropolis Officer observed Daniel Wayne Sledd, 37, Metropolis walking in the 1100 block of Broadway. The officer was aware that Sledd was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County. The warrant was for a petition to revoke probation/parole on a theft charge. Sledd was arrested and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
