SOUTHERN SEVEN HEALTH DEPARTMENT: Southern Seven Health Department (S7HD) reports 5 new recovered cases of COVID-19 in the Southern Seven region

Southern Seven Health Department issued the following announcement on June 5.

Southern Seven Health Department (S7HD) reports 5 new recovered cases of COVID-19 in the Southern Seven region. Currently, there are 103 individuals from the Southern Seven region who have recovered since the start of the pandemic in the United States.

Southern Seven confirms 3 new cases of COVID-19 in the Southern Seven region. The individuals are being isolated. The newly confirmed cases by gender and age are as follows:

• Alexander County: One male 50’s, one female 50’s

• Johnson County: One male 30’s

Southern Seven Health Department will report on the number of confirmed positive cases as more cases appear. Currently, S7HD is reporting a cumulative total of 261 positive cases of COVID-19 in the Southern Seven region. Southern Seven confirms a total of 2,896 negative COVID-19 tests have been reported in the region.

Southern Seven is pleased to report 0 new deaths as a result of COVID-19 in the Southern Seven region. There have been a total of 13 deaths in the region since the start of the pandemic.

The number of individuals confirmed, to date, within the Southern Seven Counties are as follows: NOTE: Southern Seven learned late last night that a previously reported Union County case was a resident in another county in our region. The individual, a female in her 50’s is a resident of Pulaski County. Numbers below have been updated to reflect this change.

• Alexander: 13 cases, 8 recovered, 5 active, 0 deaths

• Hardin: 1 case, 1 recovered, 0 active, 0 deaths

• Johnson: 13 cases, 8 recovered, 5 active, 0 deaths

• Massac: 7 cases, 7 recovered, 0 active, 0 deaths

• Pope: 1 case, 1 recovered, 0 active, 0 deaths

• Pulaski: 61 cases, 30 recovered, 31 active, 0 deaths

• Union: 165 cases, 48 recovered, 104 active, 13 deaths

Southern Seven Health Department will not release specific information about individuals with COVID-19 beyond their sex and age range, unless ordered by the court.

According to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), in Illinois there were 1156 new individuals with COVID-19 identified on June 5 bringing the confirmed total in the State to 125,915 individuals, with 5,795 deaths.

All data are provisional and will change. In order to rapidly report COVID-19 information to the public, data are being reported in real-time. Information is constantly being entered into an electronic system and the number of cases and deaths can change as additional information is gathered.
